Enforce TRIM
to Cut Property Taxes

The County Charter Codes 812 and 813, which embodies a 1978 local law known as TRIM (Tax Reform Initiative by Marylanders), rrequires County government to submit property tax increases for voter approval before they take effect.  However, in the FY2016 budget, the County government violated this requirement by increasing property taxes some 4%.

The project here is to challenge this improper increase in court.  For this, we are seeking funds from persons such as yourself to hire an attorney to file and presecute the necessary court action.  Please contribute to this project by making a generous donation at this website. READ MORE

Improve Quality, Accountability and Fiscal Management of PG Public Schools

Despite over $15,000 per student spending, the PG County Public Schools rank virtually dead last in student performance.  A 2014 General Assembly audit of the system found millions of dollars in waste, such as former employees paid after they stopped working, duplicate payroll checks issued to employees, and poor accountablity for over $100 million in contracts with private vendors.  This corruption, gross incompetence, and abuse must be exposed and resolved. Our plan of action is to  raise awareness of this situation. The school board budget must not be a slush fund for benefit to special interest groups that actually work against an efficient and effective education of all students in the system. READ MORE

Protect Citizens from Harmful Effects of Illegal Immigration

Prince George's County has become a beacon and haven, a so-called "sancutary", for illegal immigration, which unfairly taxes lawful citizens with the added cost of health, housing, crime prevention, and schooling.  The County government promotes this sanctuary status for illegals by funding special services for non-English speaking residents, including a special "English" school that is sponsored by a private advocacy agency for illegal aliens based in the county.  By ordinance, policy and practice, the county government discourages the capture and prosecution of illegal aliens under federal  immigration laws.  PG Citizens asks your cooperation to help expose and deter these harmful actions against the public safety and well-being of lawful residents and taxpayers in the County.
